About Marisa Menzel
Marisa Menzel, RICP®
Financial Advisor
Retirement Income Certified Professional®
Marisa Menzel has dedicated over a decade to helping families achieve financial security and navigate the complexities of retirement planning. She holds Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations as well as her life and health insurance license, and she is a designated Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®). Her commitment to her clients and contributions to her community earned her recognition from In Business Madison as a member of the Forty Under 40 class of 2015.
Since joining Wisconsin Financial Group in 2013, Marisa has remained committed to the firm. Her long-term dedication stems from a shared philosophy and an innovative, client-first approach to financial advising. She values the firm’s emphasis on advisor independence, broad access to financial products from multiple providers, and its comprehensive, forward-thinking approach to retirement planning. This alignment allows her the freedom to build and manage her practice according to her vision and the interests of her clients while also remaining in full compliance with industry regulations.
Marisa’s passion for financial planning comes from her own life experiences. Growing up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, she watched her mom skillfully manage the household finances and work a second job to put Marisa through college. That early exposure to financial discipline, combined with her love of math from a young age, sparked a lifelong passion for helping others build strong, sustainable financial futures.
Before becoming a financial advisor, Marisa worked as a wedding planner and later in fundraising, roles that sharpened her skills in relationship-building, logistics, and understanding clients’ needs. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she fell in love with the city and decided to stay and build her career.
Marisa made the switch to financial advising to educate and empower people to take control of their financial future. She specializes in retirement income planning, helping clients create efficient strategies to generate retirement income. She especially enjoys working with parents of young children, particularly high-earning moms, helping them balance saving for college and retirement while freeing up resources to enhance their current lifestyle. While retirement may seem far off, she believes that strategic, efficient planning today can lead to more financial flexibility and peace of mind in the present.
Community involvement is a cornerstone of Marisa’s life. She was a foster dog volunteer through Lola’s Lucky Day, is a longtime member of the Junior League of Madison, and an active participant in Madison Professional Women for Good, a giving circle that supports local nonprofits. She’s especially passionate about programs that benefit women and children, like All Dressed Up, a free prom dress initiative. From her professional dedication to her deep community roots, Marisa’s work is guided by her desire to make a meaningful difference, her for clients, her community, and the next generation.
Outside of her professional life, Marisa enjoys knitting, spending time with her family, and curling at the Madison Curling Club. She met her husband, Joel, through curling and her involvement in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where she was named Woman of the Year in Madison for raising $25,000 to support the fight against blood cancer. Together, they share a joyful life with their daughter, who is the light of their lives.
